{"id":392,"date":"2013-11-24T02:44:52","date_gmt":"2013-11-24T02:44:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/geek-whisperers.com\/?p=392"},"modified":"2013-11-24T02:44:52","modified_gmt":"2013-11-24T02:44:52","slug":"geek-whisperers-how-to-how-matt-edits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/geek-whisperers.com\/2013\/11\/geek-whisperers-how-to-how-matt-edits\/","title":{"rendered":"Geek Whisperers How-to: How Matt Edits"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As we take a week off from our regular podcasting, we want to offer you some insight into how we produce the show.<\/p>\n<p>We have a system in Geek Whisperers where we each play a role: Amy runs point on outreach,\u00a0John and I take turns on edits.\u00a0In today&#8217;s post, I want to show you how I edit in 5 steps.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OfVYm7QxLN4?list=PLnqRQE1elfWL3RxC6grg_7FGnRO7ZRKHE\" height=\"315\" width=\"560\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><br \/>\nSo as you can see, we go from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.callburner.com\/prerequisites\">Callburner<\/a> to GarageBand to <a href=\"http:\/\/audacity.sourceforge.net\/download\/\">Audacity<\/a> to <a href=\"http:\/\/download.cnet.com\/The-Levelator\/3000-2170_4-143304.html\">Levelator<\/a> to here.<\/p>\n<p>One more point worth noting: you may get in the situation where you want to export separate audio tracks from a single GarageBand recording.\u00a0Here&#8217;s a good hack to separate each part out without other tools:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Complete edits on the part of the podcast you want to have exported<\/li>\n<li>Cmd + A to select all tracks<\/li>\n<li>Shift + click on<strong> the parts you want to export<\/strong> as a podcast (the ones you just edited above)<\/li>\n<li>Cmd + X to remove everything selected<\/li>\n<li>Share &gt; Export Podcast to Disk<\/li>\n<li>Once complete, Cmd + Z to bring back the other audio<\/li>\n<li>Delete the snippets of what you just exported<\/li>\n<li>Repeat as needed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As we take a week off from our regular podcasting, we want to offer you some insight into how we produce the show.
