This week we had channels and platforms on the mind. No guests, just the three Geek Whisperers talking social media channels and platforms. Are private channels replacing public ones? Do podcasts replace blogs? Does Slack replace Twitter? Listen on.
Are private channels replacing public ones? Sometimes, you can’t say what you need to say in public. Twitter DMs, Facebook Messenger, and just plain old fashioned email are all there to take the conversation private.
Do podcasts replace blogs? The podcast is a very intimate medium as you hear human voices whisper in your ear. Can podcasts cut through the noise in 2015? If you’re starting from scratch, should you start a podcast or a blog?
And where are the new platforms? Is Slack really revolutionary or just IRC with a pretty face? Can Product Hunt introduce you to the new tools we need?
What are the new communication platforms you are using in 2015? Are you using platforms in different ways in 2015? Where do we go from here?
And Amy’s final tips: always use professional tools for a professional job.
Thanks for listening!
